CITY'S CONSISTENCY AND RIVALS INCONSISTENCY

Manchester City may be the best team Now in Premier league with their prolific run of 20matches won after 22matches played this season. They have also been fortunate with the inconsistency portrayed by their close rivals Chelsea FC and Manchester United FC.

After observing the Premier league title race and the results from all the matches played this week, while the yuletide period dances away.
One thing that never cease to amuse me is the imbroglio between Manchester City's consistency and their rivals inconsistency, Chelsea FC and Manchester United FC.

The pain and agony dwelling in the heart of most Chelsea fans after they dropped points against Arsenal putting them to the 3rd position while bitter rival Manchester United went up to the 2nd place after a superb second half display to ensure victory against Everton FC.

The red devils have been too inconsistent to pose an insurmountable threat to the runaway leaders Manchester City, though the table statistics states that Manchester United have lost just 3 games this season accompanied by 4 draws which 3 came in December. This has hindered the club's steady pursuit for the Premier league title.

Having claimed just 7 points from 15 points against the top 6 teams, this can not be compared to  Manchester city's run in the Premier League where they have accumulated 58points from 20matches played, winning 19 and drawing just 1 game.

Both teams Chelsea FC and Manchester United have not been able to match Manchester city's consistency. Chelsea have dropped points against inferior teams than the superior clubs in Premier league. A major factor that Chelsea FC displayed last season in winning the Premier league was their consistency and ability to rise back immediately after a defeat. This is something Manchester City is doing right now even though they haven't tasted any defeat in the Premier League this season so far.

Chelsea FC have not been in a bad form this season though, but valuable points have been lost against smaller clubs. Bagging 13 wins, 4 losses and drawing 3matches.  They have lost important points against Burnley, crystal palace and Newcastle. While the only big match lost was the defeat suffered at the hands of current table leaders Manchester United.

The reason for the inconsistency could arise from diverse angles but after a comprehensive study I think the attackers are to be blamed. For instance comparing both teams strikers together Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata. Both have 10 goals each to their account in the Premier League this season.

But the number of chances squandered by both players would have added more points to their teams current points Now. Jose Mourinho noticed Lukaku's inconsistency in front of goal, so he brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic to assist and covert opportunities Lukaku won't be able to convert. Alvaro Morata on the other hand has been inconsistent too though he has spearheaded important victories for the club. Every one would remember his mind blowing display against Atletico Madrid, Stoke city and Manchester United just to mention a few. But his recent display against Arsenal shows vividly that he can't be trusted solely with Michy Bashuayi not able to cover up in times like this,or he has not been given much opportunities by Antonio Conte. He needs a quality striker as a cover up in case he under performs, the same goes to Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester United can't depend on Zlatan and Lukaku if they are to form a squad able to replicate Manchester City current form. They need to buy a striker embedded with quality and most especially consistency though Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford could  come in since Jesse Lingard is in a blistering form at the moment.

I would exhort but managers to get quality strikers capable of replacing or pressurizing the players in this transfer windows. Manchester United FC and Chelsea FC inconsistency have also contributed to Manchester city's 15 points lead at the top of the league table.
