As we move closer to the final showdown of the Champions league in kyiv Russia, the quarter final draw of the competition held on Friday 16 March, 12:00CET.

It held in Nyon UEFA headquarter, the UEFA Champions League final ambassador Andriy Shevchenko(former Chelsea and AC Milan striker) helped to conduct the draw.

The draw was conducted among the teams that qualified through the round of 16 of the Champions league.

With eight different teams making up the quarter final, consisting of different teams from different countries. Three Spanish sides, two English teams, two Italian teams and one German team.

Defending Champions Real Madrid were drawn against Italian giant Juventus, a repetition of last season draw but that was in the semi finals. This tie should definitely be a tough one for both clubs, with  vast experience and amazing history in Champions league football. A tie that would get eyes glued to the television.

Jurgen Klopp side Liverpool drawn against impressive Manchester City team, a game that would spur the scent of Champions league football in England that have been missing. A game that would bring to the remembrance of English supporters the Champions league semi finals game like Chelsea FC versus Liverpool in 2008.

This should definitely be the most captivating match of this quarter final draw, with both team coaches having qualified for the final of this glamorous competition. Pep Guardiola Manchester City coach, leading FC Barcelona to glory in 2009 and 2011 respectively. Jurgen klopp Liverpool FC coach leading Dortmund to the finals in 2013 against Bayern Munich.

Liverpool so far this season have been the only team in Premier league to have tasted victory against Manchester city. In the second half of the season after ensuring a four goals to three win against arch rivals Manchester City. Though they lost by Five goals to nil in the first leg at the early start of the season.

Meanwhile FC Barcelona after an emphatic victory against Chelsea FC faces Italian side FC Roma in the draw. This should a very tight game for both teams.

While current German champions Bayern Munich faces FC Sevilla after thrashing Beskitas with an aggregate of seven goals to one, to eliminate them from the champions league. Sevilla the underdog in this competition could come up with a beautiful showdown and turn out to be another Leicester city in the Champions league.

The first legs will be played on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th April, with the returns on 10th and 11th April
