Man city vs Liverpool: How it happened (watch highlight)

Liverpool has reduced Man city's impressive start to nothing, as they secured a 2-1 win at Ethiad making it a 5-1 aggregate victory in the Champions League last eight.

The home side totally dominated the first half but were denied a second as Bernardo Silva hit the post and Leroy Sane saw a goal harshly ruled out for offside.
Guardiola became furious with referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz’s decisions and then raced onto the pitch at half-time to confront the official thus making him ordered to watch the remaining part of the match from the stands.

Salah brought down City's hope with a 56 minutes goal which cancelled Jesus early strike and making him become the first Liverpool player to score eight times in a single Champions League or European Cup season, also Firmino utilized a Kyle Walker error to seal their passage to the last four and match his team-mate’s record tally.

However City made efforts as Bernardo Silva striked but was denied by the left-hand post. Liverpool keeper, Loris Karius had little to do despite City’s dominance, but escaped blame for a poor punch when Sane was flagged offside after finishing from close range, even though the ball had bounced into his path off James Milner.

Guardiola ran onto the pitch disagreeing with Lahoz after no stoppage time was played, making the Spanish officials to send the City boss to the stands, and matters got worse for the home side after the restart.
