Throw back Friday: Ice Prince Zamani


Panshak Zamani, who is better known by his stage name 'Ice Prince' was born on 30th, October, 1986. He is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and actor. He rose to fame after releasing "Oleku ", one of Nigeria's most remixed songs of all time.

3. He was born in the city of Minna , Niger State, Nigeria but at age two, he relocated to Jos with his family.

4. He attended St. Murumba College, in Jos, Plateau State and also got admission into the University of Jos to study Zoology but had to leave school in his 100 level and focus on his music because of financial constraints.

5. Ice started his music career in Jos where he joined his church choir and was a Tenor singer.

6. Ice’s love for Hip Hop rap began in 1998 when he started to write rap lyrics and was also performing the songs he wrote at events, mostly those in school.

7. Ice Prince met MI in 2004, and together with M.I, Jesse Jagz, Lindsey, Ruby, Eve and Taz, they started what is now known as “Loopy Crew”.

10. His debut studio album, Everybody Loves Ice Prince , was released in 2011. It was supported by the singles “Oleku”, “Superstar”, “Juju” and “Magician”.

11. In 2013, Ice Prince released Fire of Zamani as his second studio album. The album contained the singles “Aboki”, “More”, “Gimme Dat” and “I Swear”. On 1 st July 2015, Chocolate City announced Ice Prince as the new Vice Chairman of the music label.

12. Ice Prince has no parents presently. He admitted that life was rosy when his dad was alive, but lost him in 1999 and his mum which took up the care later died leaving him with no option but to role with MI Abaga and Jesse Jags and they all chilled at Djinee's place.
